The snow under our feet. The crunch and crackle. The sharp sound of the first carving turn. The fresh winter air, cold and clear, reminds us - again and again - to live.
Skiing
Skiing is a way of life. Freedom and joy are the driving forces of this special winter activity. Luckily, we are in the middle of the Sportwelt Amadé and no matter which direction you turn, you will find a ski area. Skiers, snowboarders and free riders tootle through 5 ski regions with one ski pass and enjoy 800 km of perfectly groomed slopes and 270 modern lifts.
Tip:
With the ski bus, which leaves directly from the hotel’s parking garage, you are perfectly connected to the Spacejet 1 ski lift in Flachau (10 mins drive).

Our 2.2 km long toboggan run has now reached an iconic status. The word “Zipflbob” is a hard-earned vocabulary addition for newbies, but after the first ride on our illuminated toboggan run, this word will surely never be forgotten.
After a 40-minute hike from Altenmarkt or Reitdorf or a ride with the taxi or your own car, you can rent a toboggan, Zipflbob or Speedbob directly at our hotel. Our speedy sledding course is perfect for the Zipflbob - proper snow gear and sturdy shoes are advisable (and a helmet comes in handy, especially for the racers & kids amongst you).
The end of the toboggan run is located in Altenmarkt, close to the supermarket M-Preis (or Hotel Urbisgut), there is also a small wooden shack where the Zipflbobs shall be returned. Kindly place rented toboggans in front of it.
For larger groups, please call ahead to make a reservation so that we can make sure we have enough toboggans available.

Ski Tours
Have you ever tried a ski tour? First a hike up the mountain on your skies and then the well-deserved descent on pristine snow without the ski tracks of others?
Inquire about the various possibilities in the area. Isabella & Hansi are eager ski tourers themselves and can help with insider tips.
Important: Carefully consider the respective snow conditions and current danger of avalanches, so safety is given beyond the regular slopes.
Guided tours are offered also by the local ski schools. Special piste tours are also provided in the surrounding ski areas. You can rent the right equipment from the local sports shops.
Snow Shoe Hiking
You like to exercise and would like an alternative for a day or two from your regular skiing? A snowshoe hike through the snowy winter wonderland may be just the right thing for you.
Cross-Country Skiing
The possibilities for winter sports are endless - there are also wonderful routes for cross-country skiing that lead through the snow-covered towns of Flachau, Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Wagrain and even further: the all-connected trail in our immediate vicinity is up to 260 km long.
Ice Skating
You’d like a day off from skiing and instead prefer a walk and ice skating? The natural ice-skating rink is located right at the foot of our mountain in Altenmarkt - you can get there even faster if you toboggan down with the Zipflbob and after a few pirouettes on ice, take the quick hike up the mountain again as a finisher of the day.
Horse-Drawn Sleight Rides
Glide through the snowy winter land in a carriage? Explore the area in a different way and really let it sink in? Horse-drawn sleigh rides have a long tradition in our area and are a really special experience.
